Super Visa Insurance in Surrey
IRCC-compliant medical cover for parents and grandparents applying for a Super Visa. Policy documents issued quickly, because the application cannot be submitted without proof of insurance.
What IRCC requires
Cover must be from a Canadian insurer, valid for at least one year from entry, and meet the minimum emergency medical coverage set by IRCC. A policy that does not meet all three conditions will not support the application.
Buy it before you apply
Proof of paid insurance is part of the application package, not something you arrange after approval. This is the single most common reason a Super Visa application is delayed.
If the visa is refused
Policies we arrange can be refunded if the application is refused, provided no claim has been made. Ask us to confirm the refund terms in writing before you buy.

Common questions
How much coverage does a Super Visa need?
IRCC sets a minimum emergency medical coverage amount that must be held for at least one year from entry, from a Canadian insurer. We confirm the current figure when quoting, since it is periodically revised.
What happens if my parents go home early?
Where no claim has been made, a pro-rated refund for the unused months is often available. IRCC accepts a policy paid in full, or paid in instalments with a deposit, so ask us which insurers offer monthly payments.
If they need care in Surrey
Hospitals in Surrey are run by Fraser Health, and the emergency department a visitor is most likely to reach is Surrey Memorial Hospital. Surrey Memorial runs one of the busiest emergency departments in the province, and it is where most visitors staying in Surrey, Newton or Fleetwood are taken.
A visitor without provincial health cover is billed directly, and the hospital asks how the stay will be paid for at admission — often before treatment is finished. That is the moment the policy earns its keep: the insurer’s assistance line can confirm cover to the hospital directly, so the family is not asked to settle a bill and claim it back afterwards.
Call the assistance number on the policy before or as soon as treatment starts. Emergency care is covered whether or not you call first, but calling is what lets the insurer deal with the hospital instead of you.
The four conditions, in full
Four conditions decide whether a policy supports the application. All four are set by IRCC and apply the same way in Surrey as anywhere else in Canada.
Cover from a Canadian insurer
The policy has to be issued by an insurance company licensed in Canada. A plan bought in your parents' home country does not satisfy IRCC, however good it is.
At least one year from entry
Cover must run a minimum of one year from the day they arrive. Shorter terms are refused, and cover that starts late leaves a gap IRCC will see.
The minimum medical amount
IRCC sets a minimum emergency medical benefit. The figure has been revised before, so we confirm the current requirement with you at the time of quoting rather than quoting one from memory.
Proof before you apply
Evidence of paid cover forms part of the application package. This is the single most common reason a Super Visa is delayed — the insurance is arranged after the application instead of before it.
Before you buy
Does a higher deductible lower the premium?
Usually. A higher deductible means the family covers more of the first costs themselves and the premium comes down. It is only worth it if that amount could be paid at short notice, so we show you both figures rather than defaulting to the cheapest.
What happens if they have a pre-existing condition?
Most plans cover pre-existing conditions provided they have been stable for a defined period before travel — the stability window differs between insurers. We check the exact wording against their medical history before you buy, not after.
Can the premium be paid monthly?
Several of the insurers we work with offer monthly payment on annual Super Visa policies. It costs a little more overall than paying once, and not every plan allows it, so we show you both.
